A Local's Guide to Tel Aviv, Israel

Describe who you are in 3 sentences:
My name is Chen and I’m a textile designer working as a Projects Coordinator in the textile field. I’m an animal & nature lover and have 3 dogs and 2 cats of my own, prefer spending every minute at the beach listening to music and looking at the waves. With that said - I always have to be in control of things.

What is your relation to this city?
I've been living in Tel Aviv for 12 years, and I’m happy to call this crazy, energetic never sleeping city my home!

Best experience?
'Gay parade' - for sure. It's literally the wildest experience around, everyone are so happy and positive, dancing in the streets and just spreading the LOVE. I love the energy the parade creates, it's contagious.

Weirdest experience?
I was on my way out and ordered a cab using an app, I had the most interesting conversation with the taxi driver that I didn’t notice I gave the wrong address and found myself in the other side of the city, but I definitely enjoyed that ride.

Your top 3 hangout spots?
"Cafe Europa", "Herzl 16", "Romano"
- they have a cool basic menu and a cool chilled vibe, you can go there super fancy looking or with your pj's, it's totally up to you.

Favourite restaurants?
"Topolopompo" - it's an Asian fusion delicious restaurant, very minimalistic design that makes you realize its all about the food. I always prefer sitting on the bar having a friendly interaction with the bartenders.

Best date place?
"Imperial" - its the weirdest little bar located in an old cheap hotel. It have only 20 seats and its because they serve the best and most complicated cocktails, the vibe is very friendly and close but still fancy. Good food and excellent service.

Best Sunday spot?
'Dog beach'! Whenever I have some free time I grab my boyfriend and the dogs and we hit the beach, its a special beach where the dogs can run and play with other dogs so its the happiest place to be in!

If you were to live in another place, where would that be and why?
I must say Byron Bay, I’ve been following some bloggers that are located in Byron and I really admire how they love and appreciate nature and work hard to preserve it - only looking at images of the beach makes me feel happy and calm.

Where is your escape place from this city?

Best escape place would be the dead sea. Its the most relaxing, magical place on earth to me. Its far away from the noisy city and the sun and salty water make the skin glow after you go in - most recommended!
