A Local's Guide to London, England

Describe who you are in 3 sentences:
My name is Else Philipsen, I’m working hard on my 2 business, Fashion and Technology. I love my family and friends, and always in for a spontaneous girls night out, or a last minute getaway!

What is your relation to this city?
I’ve been in London for over 7 years and I love this city! I graduated from ‘The Interior Design School of London’ nearly 5 years ago. My two companies are both incorporated here, I’m applying for a British citizen and have no plans leaving the U.K

Weirdest experience?
When my old apartment on Baker Street was haunted. Maybe it was Sherlock Holmes visiting his old neighbourhood?

Your top 3 hangout spots?
"Little House Mayfair", "Shoreditch House" (for meetings), "Loulou's" for a night out.

Favourite restaurants?
"L’atelier Jöel Rubochon" in Covent Garden, "Le Gavroche" in Mayfair, "Nobu" (Old Park Lane) and "Riccardos Italian" on Fulham Road.

Best date place?
"La Gavroche" by far - So romantic and the food there is outstanding!

Best Sunday spot?
"Little house Mayfair" for a Sunday roast! You can find me there nearly every Sunday.

If you were to live in another place, where would that be and why?
Probably New York or Copenhagen. I sometimes miss Copenhagen, but would probably get bored after a week back. I love the New York vibe. The weather there is just a bit to crazy for me but guess you can get used to it!

Where is your escape place from this city?
This is embarrassing, but I never go to any other cities in the UK. So the answer would probably be Paris or Copenhagen. I go to both cities ones a month, more or less.

Best 5 local advices?
1. Be careful when renting a flat on Zoopla and other online sites. Make sure the estate agent is working for a reliable company and is not a fraud. Lots of people end up transferring deposits to untraceable offshore accounts.
2. Be careful who you trust. London is full of fake people. There are obviously also lots of wonderful people! Especially my friends.
3. Make sure you tell the black cabs your preferred route if you know where you’re going. They tend to take the longest possible way to make more money. This can be very expensive and time consuming for you!
4. Can’t think of anything else right now...
