A Local's Guide to Amsterdam, Holland - This Way

A Local's Guide to Amsterdam, Holland

Describe who you are in 3 sentences:
Hello ! I am Sophie Lempers and I am 20 years old. Now a days I work as a fulltime model. I really like to travel, watch documentaires and not to forget, to eat! Hahah

What is your relation to this city?
Amsterdam is the capital city of Holland. I do not live in Amsterdam but still I love to be there. There is always something new to explore!

Best experience?
What I really like about Amsterdam is that there are so many different people. It doesn't feel like you are in Holland. So when I am in Amsterdam it feels like I can escape from the Netherlands.

Weirdest experience?
The fact that everybody but like really everybody is smoking weed! Hahah it is so famous in Amsterdam. And a lot of tourists are coming to Holland just to try the weed. I do not smoke weed because it is not good for your health. But is is funny to see.

Your top 3 hangout spots?
The vintage stores, the "Bijenkorf" (huge shoppingcenter) and the Vondelpark.

Favourite restaurants?
"Bulls and Dogs"! They have the best hotdogs in the world.

Best date place?
To be honest it depends what you like to do as a date. I don't like to go to a place and drink something. I think for me it will be the Vondelpark. It is a huge park and it is so nice to walk there (but only in summer of course) ;).

Best Sunday spot?
"Bagels and Beans". It is a nice coffee restaurant where you can chill and talk with your friends.

If you were to live in another place, where would that be and why?
Hmmm this is a hard question! I really like Tokyo. It is just another world. But I couldn't live there forever.

Where is your escape place from this city?
The beach. It is not that far. Sometimes the big and busy city can annoy you. So that is why I like to go to relax at the beach.

Best 5 local advices?
1. Visit the museums in Amsterdam.
2. Try the Dutch fries.
3. Do the famous tour on the canals.
4. Go see the beautiful and colourful tulips.
5. Last but not least, they have an amazing "Madame Tussaud".
