10 beauty tips by Julie Pallesen

Okay guys. Are you ready for this? I care a lot about beauty and everything that is good for your body. And It is very easy to do small things that create a huge difference for a glowy and clean face.
The most common questions about beauty I get asked is what I do to get such a glow and to keep my skin so clean with all my traveling.
I would like to share with you my 10 beauty tips that I always stick to and that are pretty easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

Tip 1: Drink 2 liters of water every day.
I bet you have heard this many times before but there is something about it. I drink a lot fo water for two reasons; firstly because I know it is good for my skin and secondly because I really need to. If I do not stay hydrated I feel dizzy. So I aim to drink between 2-3 liters of water every day.

Tip 2: Eat your greens
I eat a lot of vegetabels and especially the green kinds. Broccoli and spinach are my favorite green veggies and I try to mix them in various kinds of dishes so it does not become too boring. I mix spinach in my smoothie or mix in it my ratatouille. The broccoli I make a pizza crust with or add it to a quinoa salad or just as a side to my meat or fish (I am not vegan and I love meat and fish).

Tip 3: SPF
Sun protection is really important to use and nowadays there is a lot of focus on it. Sunscreen protects you from aging, getting pigmentations, and other sun damages. I also add sunscreen to my face creme. And of course I can recommend the sunscreen from my own travel brand, This Way.

Tip 4: Serum
I started using serum from the age of 22 years old. Serum is like a booster for your skin. Cremes are of course important and I hope you already use creme, because if not then start with that. But if you do not use serum then I highly recommend you to start using one. The can be quite expensive because they are usually filled with a lot of active ingredients. Use serum after cleaning your face and before applying creme. I use it both morning and night and I am a big fan. At the moment I use Rodial Snake serumand I am obsessed with it.

Tip 5: Workout
Sweat is good for you and your skin. Think about it, when you sweat you basically rinse off all the dirt you have. I can see my skin more clean (and red) after good cardio or hot yoga class. And the periods where I workout a lot I also see that not just my body loves it but my skin does too.

Tip 6: Collagen
I started taking collagen supplements about 6 months ago and now I do not see a reason why stopping. Collagen gives your skin elasticity and keeps it young (a very short explanation of what collagen does). It is very hard to obtain collagen through food as it is in fish bones and skin and other difficult food items. Now there are a lot of different companies selling collagen in powders that you can add to water, juice, smoothie etc. I use the powder from the UK based brand, Collagem and I love it.

Tip 7: Remove your make-up
This is a vital one! Before you go to bed your skin needs to breathe in order to recover. If you still have your foundation, bronzer, or whatever you are using it cannot breathe. Your skin needs to be clean and preferably with some moist. But most importantly NO make-up on!

Tip 8: Mask it up
I love masks as I see the instant positive result. Use hydrating mask that you apply for 30 min. and then remove or even the mask that you can sleep with overnight are amazing because then it really has the time to get in the skin.

Tip 9: Omega 3-6-9
If you do not eat fish every day then I highly recommend you of taking Omega 3-6-9. I take omega 3-6-9 supplements everyday and I see a huge difference.

Tip 10: Sleep
Thi is my biggest challenge. I do not sleep enough and I do not have any kind of rhythm. I like to work at night on my laptop. I feel inspired and creative at night. And I also like to go out. This combination makes it hard for me to go to bed early and get my 8 hours of beauty sleep. And I always wake up kind of early for modelign jobs, castings, meetings, or to make my flight. That results in me sleeping about 4 hours.
But when I have periods where I really prioritize sleep and get my 8 hours sleep then I really see the difference. Challenge yourself and get 8 hours of sleep for 14 days and I promise you that the results are scary. Your skin has had time to recover and rejuvenate which makes is closer to flawless than before.
